Abstract: The collection mainly consists of exhibition catalogs for exhibits which were held in the UWM Art Museum, the Fine Arts Galleries, and the Art History Gallery, which were consolidated and renamed as the Institute of Visual Arts (inova) in 1996. The collection also includes some miscellaneous exhibition promotional materials. The UWM Department of Art and/or the UWM School of Fine Arts sponsored a number of the exhibits. There are also a few planning documents for the museum from 1982 to 1991.

Abstract: Records created by the Institute for Urban Health Partnerships, a research institute of the UWM School of Nursing. The Institute's mission was to provide educational and clinical services to disadvantaged residents of the city of Milwaukee and the surrounding communities, and to offer learning opportunities for students enrolled in the nursing program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Most of the collection consists of grant proposals and correspondence between the Institute and granting agencies, including the Milwaukee chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Milwaukee Public Schools, Milwaukee Health Department, the United Way, and the Wisconsin Area Health Education Center. Of particular interest are the participant interviews and surveys, and evaluations of programs that focused on parenting, teenage pregnancy, women's health, and adolescent female empowerment. Reports and meeting minutes generated by the Institute's Board of Directors and staff, and the nursing and community programs are also included.

Abstract: The UWM Library Staff Association collection contains records documenting the association's finances, membership, contests and fundraisers, parties, correspondence among members, election results, and events. It also contains photographs taken by Wilma Geise, who at the time worked in Golda Meir Library's Cataloging Department. The photographs are of Library Staff Association functions beginning in 1974, and include images of employees at Golda Meir Library ceremonies, picnics, and various types of parties including holiday, retirement, and anniversary parties. The collection also contains photographs of Chancellor Schroeder's inauguration ceremony, and construction of Golda Meir Library.

Abstract: Records of a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student organization. Consists of newspaper articles, photographs, and programs dealing with the organization. Several articles in the collection focus on the death of Scabbard and Blade member Lt. Terry Manz, who was killed in 1967 in South Vietnam. Also included are several photographs of Scabbard and Blade members at the Military Ball (1958, 1963-1964), photographs of the 1967 Awards Dinner and the 1967 and 1968 Pledge Nights, and programs from the Military Ball (1967-1970). The programs provide a list of sponsors, commanding officers, and honored guests at the Military Ball.

Abstract: Miscellaneous records of the Advocate Education Program--Teacher Corps for Corrections, Milwaukee (AEP-TCCM), which was designed to educate students and other program participants in how to deal with problems and potentials of "conflict youth." Includes curriculum committee minutes and newsletters containing announcements, reports, and information concerning course and curriculum developments. Correspondence files contain correspondence of Frank P. Besag, director of the Teacher Corps for Corrections, documenting the development of the Teacher Corps Program. The collection also includes files of the Local Education Agency (LEA), which administered the Advocate Education Program--Teacher Corps for Corrections. These records largely consist of minutes documenting staffing, budget, and other administrative matters of concern. Other materials document the development and evaluations of the Teacher Corps program.
