It was the practice of the Employee Welfare Funds Division to shift an entire fund file as it had accumulated when the fund fluctuated between over 25 and under 26 status or when it terminated operations or was reactivated. Because of this, the location within these series of an entire fund file, annual statements, or fund documents depends upon the most recent status of the fund. It should also be noted that certain records, for example annual statements and fund documents, which had each been filed separately in the early years of the division (and which are catalogued as separate series) were merged in later years into a comprehensive fund file, represented by Series 270 and Series 1732.
