Included is the history of the station starting in 1973, then jumping to 1979 through 1984. To go along with this is the station’s application to and license from the FCC in 1973 and 1974 as well as the license’s renewal from 1976 to 1989. Other interesting documents cover the stations violations of the FCC’s rules on obscenity. The first, dubbed the “July Affair”, occurred in 1985 and discusses the playing of a “radical” band and the aftermath of its’ airing. The second controversy, called the “Smith Affair”, discusses the takeover of WGBW by Wisconsin Public Radio in 1989.
