Abstract: Interviews with 55 commercial fishermen on Lake Michigan conducted by Catherine Coberly for the Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute, concerning ecological changes affecting commercial fishing on the Great Lakes. The interviews contain information about personal backgrounds, boats and equipment used, types of fish, locations, and the economics of commercial fishing, as well as observations about weather and lake conditions. The fishermen's recollections span 1900-1979. The collection includes paper transcriptions for several of the interviews.

Abstract: A complete run (155 episodes) of the television series Sea Hunt, which ran from 1958 to 1961. This half-hour syndicated adventure series featured Lloyd Bridges as Mike Nelson, an ex-Navy frogman turned underwater explorer. All the films are 16 mm prints with sound; some are in black and white and some in color.

Abstract: A herbarium (collection of plant specimens) collected in La Crosse County, Wisconsin, between 1893 and 1894. Soil type of where the plant was found is also given. Specimens are very fragile. Selma Heideman was the mother of Mrs. Dorothy (Arthur) Hering of Wauwautosa, Wisconsin.

Abstract: Records of a volunteer organization which promoted the health and well-being of older adults and encouraged them to be politically and socially active. The collection includes committee meeting minutes, correspondence, news clippings, photographs, grant proposals, reports, film and videotape. Most of the records are those of its presidents, William Kesselman and Anne Sery. Especially well-documented are the identification cards program, tax reform meetings, and work with the Milwaukee County Commission on Aging.

Abstract: Labor organizing files of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 100, with headquarters in New Orleans serving Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas. SEIU Local 100 started out as the United Labor Organizations in 1980 and quickly became the United Labor Unions, an independent union formed by Hyatt hotel employees with the help of Wade Rathke, chief organizer. The United Labor Unions affiliated with the SEIU Local 100 in 1984. However, since 2009, the United Labor Unions Local 100 is independent again. The collection primarily documents the union's activities and organizing efforts over time, the union's affiliation with ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), other locals, and the Teamsters, Engineers, ACORN Movement (a collaboration between the Teamsters' union, the operating engineers union, and ACORN), the merger between Local 275 and Local 100, and the 1986 boycott of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in New Orleans through administrative files, memoranda and reports, correspondence, publicity, contracts, and staff files.

Included are articles of incorporation, proceedings of annual state conventions, minutes of the Dane County branch (1919-1926), Xeroxed scrapbooks, a financial ledger, and miscellaneous photographs and ephemera.

Abstract: Original photographs (prints and negatives) made by David Mandel and corresponding prints from negatives from the Andreas Larsen Dahl collection produced for the book Settlers of Dane County: the photographs of Andreas Larsen Dahl, 1985. All images are of sites in Dane County, Wisconsin, primarily residences. Each Mandel photograph identifies contemporary residents and is matched with a Dahl image taken in the same location, circa 1870s. The 1985 photograph of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Kelly was not published in the book.

Abstract: Records consist of the administrative files of the Seven Arts Society, which supported public interest in the arts. Includes minutes of the board of directors meetings and treasurer's reports, the society's annual art exhibition, minutes of annual meetings, annual reports of the various interest groups, and extensive minutes of the Painters' Group meetings. Files contain the society's monthly newsletter and the administrative materials and news clippings pertaining to the Piano Talenteens competition. There are membership rosters, officers' reports and scrapbooks of news clippings and administrative items. One folder contains materials on the Wisconsin Composers Program, a biennial event which featured the music of Wisconsin composers. Several pieces of member artwork are included in the records.

Abstract: Papers, 1842-1986, of the Seymour family of Dellona (Sauk County), Wisconsin, documenting the family farm, first run by Silas J. and Mary Anne Conine Seymour, and thereafter by their son, Merton E. Seymour and his wife Blanche Jeffries (or Jefferies) Seymour. The farm records include general account books, cash books, and ledgers, plus separate volumes for butter sales (1903-1918), the hop yard (1863-1868), and hired help (1887-1893). Silas Seymour’s personal papers illustrate the life of a farmer, family man, and civic leader. The collection includes family correspondence, and the papers and a photograph of the Seymours’ daughter, Ella, who was disabled with Kyphosis. Also included are reports on Sauk County personages Archibald Barker, W.H. Canfield, and Levi Moore, written by Ruth Seymour Burmester in the 1970s-1980s.
