Integrated files concerning NBC's relations with its affiliates and its owned-and-operated stations. The majority of the files concern domestic broadcasting, but a few foreign short-wave stations are also represented. While most are NBC-related, a few stations (e.g. WHA, Madison, Wisconsin, and WAAB, Boston, Massachusetts) are not; their inclusion was determined by their effect on NBC stations. The files consist of correspondence, memos, notes, reports, FCC hearings, contracts, charts, clippings, and financial data. Arranged alphabetically by call letters, most stations have separate files; those of only a few items are grouped into four folders of miscellaneous material. Although inclusive dates are given for the material on many stations, there are frequent gaps within these span dates. Most of the files concern rates, time options, frequency and power allocations, contract negotiations, and facility operations and locations.

Although usually routine and fragmentary, the material for several stations is particularly noteworthy in its quantity and quality: KECA, Los Angeles; KOMO, Seattle, WLW, Cincinnati, WLS, Chicago; and WEAF, New York City. Few files contain information on specific programming, but there is significant material throughout on NBC's competition for affiliates with CBS, the FCC and other investigations and regulations, the station line-up between the Red and Blue Networks, and the history and operations of the Pacific Coast Network. Many files also contain information on station history.

Among the NBC executives whose responsibilities are treated here are A.L. Ashby, Merlin H. Aylesworth, Phillips Carlin, William S. Hedges, Edgar Kobak, Lenox Lohr, Frank E. Mason, Joseph V. McConnell, Richard C. Patterson, Frank Russell, Niles Trammell , and Roy C. Witmer.
