Scope and Content Note: Department of Justice subject files, meeting agendas, and memos from Executive Assistant Mike Stead, and others. Subjects include budget information, Medicaid, drug studies, as well as files on various councils and teams, legislation, and investigations. Many files are devoted to Attorney General Donald Hanaway's management plan for the Department of Justice including related correspondence, notes and reports. The collection also contains records from the Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB). Several boxes are made up of departmental correspondence; filed either by date, county or subject. Correspondence subjects include legislature and various public services. Also included are subject files on legal matters of Wisconsin universities, including tuition determinations and insurance information.
