Scope and Content Note: This series contains correspondence that Mr. Leopold apparently kept at his home (Box 001); clippings and other materials collected by Mrs. Leopold that concern Mr. Leopold's activities (Box 002); and letters, clippings, etc. from the period following Mr. Leopold's death (Box 003), all deposited by Mrs. Aldo Leopold [Estella Bergere Leopold]. Later additions to the collection include family correspondence (Boxes 004-010) and materials relating to the history of the Leopold, Starker, Luna, and Bergere families (Boxes 011-012), deposited by various members of the Leopold family.

Note: Transcript of a radio documentary made in 1974. On April 20 of that year--the day before the 26th anniversary of AL's death--AL's longtime secretary Vivian Horn recorded memories of her years with AL for University of Wisconsin student Jim Voegeli. In the interview Ms. Horn, who worked for AL from 1928 to 1940, discussed AL's work with SAAMI, his offices, and his graduate students, along with his writing, archery activities, and the Leopold family. The recording itself can be found in the Leopold-Voegeli Collection at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. The file also includes correspondence with E.B. Fred, Dean of the University of Wisconsin School of Agriculture.

Charles Leopold, AL's paternal grandfather, apparently attended the Hanover Veterinary Studio and kept this notebook of readings and lecture notes. A cursory translation reveals that the notes involve internal diseases of domestic animals.
