Administrative/Restriction Information
Researchers must use digital access copies of the safety film and nitrate negatives.
There are no other access restrictions on the materials, and the collection is open to all
members of the public in accordance with state law.
The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel,
privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin
Statutes 19.21-19.39).
Laurie Glass, executor of Werley's estate, donated the collection to the Archives in
various stages: December 1996 (accession 1996-022), March 2002 (2001-061), and May 2006
(2005-063). Laurie Glass donated additional materials in August 2013 (accession 2013-020)
and June 2017 (accession 2016-047).
Christel Maass began processing the first accession (1996-022) sometime shortly after it
arrived at the Archives. With assistance from Matt Shoemaker, Lucy Waldrop, and Allen
Ramsey, she finished processing the collection in August 2009. Christel Maass processed
the additions (accession 2013-020) in November 2016. Christel Maass minimally processed
accession 2016-047 in July 2017.
Due to the collection's extreme disarray, the bulk of the folders in the collection were
placed in chronological order and received minimal processing. Other
materials–biographical information, correspondence, news clippings and press
releases, publication reprints, papers and presentations, photographs, and audio cassettes
and the videocassette–were processed as separate series.
