Abstract: Incomplete corporate records of a milk and dairy products marketing cooperative formed in 1924 as the Ladysmith Milk Producers' Co-operative Association. The cooperative dissolved in 1979. The collection includes by-laws, minutes, correspondence and related material such as loan applications from members and from the cooperative to banks, newsletters, and stock records. Few financial or dairy products' production records are present. There are also a few items from the Dairy Cooperative Institute and National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, Attorneys' and Accountants' Conference.

Abstract: Records of the law firm partnership of William H. Flett and Milton C. Porter, containing mainly correspondence dealing with debt collection, credit reporting, and land transactions, plus some of Porter's personal and civic papers and correspondence from his service as Lincoln County, Wis. district attorney. Porter's civic papers concern his work as a member of the Lincoln County and Merrill boards of education, the local cemetery board, and the Merrill Masonic Lodge.

Abstract: Papers of Flora E. Lowry (Mrs. Robert Lowry), a La Crosse, Wisconsin resident and clubwoman, concerning her avocational interest in Wisconsin writers. The collection includes research correspondence, biographical note cards, clippings, photographs, and printed writings by many Wisconsin writers, poets, and musicians. Among the larger files are those concerning Rasmus B. Anderson, George Collie, and Hamlin Garland. The photographs include Hamlin Garland (probably at West Salem, Wisconsin) and pictures of Lincoln scholar George Hambrecht visiting Old Salem, Illinois in 1922. Original sheet music in the collection has been transferred to the University of Wisconsin Music Library.

Abstract: The Floral Arts Garden Club was organized in 1964 and affiliated with the National Council of State Garden Clubs and the Wisconsin Garden Club Federation. The collection consists mainly of artistically hand decorated yearbooks from 1964-1984. The last known year of the club's existance is 1985.

Abstract: The Margaret and Florence Hoopes papers (1894-1953) is primarily composed of the correspondence of American illustrators, Margaret and Florence Hoopes. The sisters illustrated a number of publications, but are most well-known for their watercolor work on the "Alice and Jerry" Basal reader books from the mid 20th century. Most of the correspondence is from a number of publishers, including Row, Peterson, and Co. which published the "Alice and Jerry" books. The collection also contains illustrations, notes, and source materials.

Abstract: Interior and exterior views of four Madison, Wisconsin, residences of librarian Florence C. Hays: 216 S. Henry Street, 218 W. Gilman Street, The Irving (419 Sterling), and 432 Hawthorne. Hays served as a librarian for the Legislative Reference Library in the state Capitol and for the University of Wisconsin. After the time period represented by these photographs, Ms. Hays went to China to organize a library there, then returned to Wisconsin, and died in Milwaukee in 1965.

Abstract: Florence C. Hays was born in Beloit, Wisconsin. She was a librarian who served the Oshkosh (WI) Public Library, Manitowoc (WI) Public Library, Manistee (MI) Public Library, Ripon College Library (WI), Wisconsin Legislative Reference Library, University of Wisconsin Extension Division - Municipal Reference Bureau Library (WI), St. John’s University Library (China), Watertown (WI) Public Library, Photoart Visual Services (WI) and Spencerian Business College Library (WI). During World War II she was a Reference Library Assistant for the 351st College Training Detachment at State Teachers’ College.

Abstract: Extensive correspondence and personal papers of Florence Larkin of Eau Claire, Wis., together with smaller quantities of correspondence and papers of her husband and relatives in the Sullivan and Robertson families. The papers document Larkin's student years at Vassar College, teaching school in Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Michigan, work for the YMCA Women's Service in Europe during World War I, marriage to Edwin Larkin in her late forties, and active membership in the Eau Claire civic and arts communities. The correspondence is largely with suitors, friends, and family, particularly between Florence and her Aunt Mary Robertson who was her financial benefactor and confidant. The papers also include letters from her husband during his stateside World War II service; records of the Eau Claire Civic Music Association; scrapbooks; and diaries from her travels in Europe and America. Edwin's papers concern his Eau Claire law practice and the First Bank of Mondovi of which he was president. Other family members represented by files are Florence's parents, Florance D. and Anna McCarthy Sullivan; her brothers, Arthur G. and Eugene Sullivan; and her aunt and uncle, Mary and George W. Robertson.

Abstract: Papers of Florence Patton FitzGerald (Mrs. W. Norman FitzGerald, Jr.) of Milwaukee, Wis. and of other family members. Correspondence describes Florence Patton's trip to England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland in 1920, and her work as a driver for the Comite Americain pour les regions devastees de la France (C.A.R.D.) in 1921. Correspondence to Mrs. FitzGerald from Mabel Finch (later Mrs. Gaul), 1938-1952, describes upperclass English family life during World War II, especially German bombing raids, employment, war news, and British prisoners of war, particularly Mrs. Finch's brother, Norman Shuttleworth. Post-war subjects include food shortages, the Labour government, travel, and family affairs. One letter from Sadie Harris in 1942 describes destruction of U.S. shipping by German submarines off the Florida coast. The collection also includes material regarding William FitzGerald as inspector of vessels at Milwaukee (1887-1898), and regarding his ship, Red, White and Blue (1869), and a 1908 lake trip. The photographs date circa 1860-1910 and are portraits related to the FitzGerald family.
