Abstract:
Files of Lynn Farnol, director of advertising and publicity, consisting of correspondence, A-K only for January-June 1940. There are letters to and from the media, publishing companies, trade papers, theaters, and film production companies; extensive correspondence with United Artists (UA) branch managers and field agents, along with many inter-office memos, especially to and from UA vice president, G.D. Buckley; and a folder of employment applications. Subjects discussed include advertising budgets for pictures; premieres and other special events; and the solicitation of publicity in newspapers and magazines. Also treated are specific publicity ideas from Farnol and others, coordination of advertising policies with UA producers, and general personnel matters.
