Scope and Content Note

This collection documents Lang's distinguished nursing career. Included are materials documenting her work with numerous healthcare organizations including the American Nurses Association, the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research, the American Medical Peer Review Association, and the Institute of Medicine. The collection contains meeting and presentation materials, publications, news clippings, and consultation materials documenting her work on nursing standards, effectiveness initiatives, classification of nursing practice, social policy, and databases, as well as materials from her work with colleague Harriet Werley to establish nursing minimum data sets. The collection also includes teaching materials, information about awards received, some photographs, and an audio cassette of a 1991 Wisconsin Public Radio interview discussing Wisconsin's nursing shortage. Addition includes information about the ACW (Aurora-Cerner-UWM) partnership, the Knowledge Based Nursing Initiative (KBNI) project, and further presentations and awards.
