Scope and Content Note: Additions consisting of photographs and color photocopies of and relating to Derleth, as well as published works by Derleth. The photocopies include images of Derleth in various posed and candid shots, and images of family, friends, and special events at which he was present. There are no captions for these photocopies and no information regarding date, location, or photographer. The photographs include images of Derleth in a study and collecting mushrooms; his home “Places of Hawks” in Sauk City, Wisconsin; his gravesite at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Sauk City, Wisconsin; Derleth and others in a recording studio; and Derleth and an unidentified man with stacks of the sound recording, “August Derleth Reads Psyche.” Several of the images were made by Bruce Montgomery, Sauk City, Wisconsin. Also included is a published edition of his poem, Elegy: On the Umbral Moon, inscribed to Helen Kirchstein and signed by Derleth, and an edition of In the Course of Our Walks / edited by Richard Quinney.
