By year, thereunder alphabetical by municipality, and thereunder by legal description. For smaller communities the legal description is usually by quarter section, then by block and lot. For larger communities the arrangement is usually by subdivision, then by quarter section, section, and lot. Personal property is listed at the end of each volume in alphabetical sequence by surname.
