Scope and Content Note: Case files, November 1960-November 1962 (case numbers 9226-9701), of closed cases concerning violations of state liquor and prostitution laws. Of particular interest are three cases involving individuals operating moonshine stills from their residences in the towns of Beaver, Jump River, and Porterfield, Wisconsin (case numbers 9454, 9474, and 9485); and a grocer manufacturing and selling moonshine from his grocery store in Green Bay (case number 9475). Files are arranged by case number (and also by date of violation, since case numbers were assigned as violations occurred). Note that prostitution case files have white labels. Also included are case files, January 1958-May 1961 (case numbers L1-L249) on cases specifically concerning violations of the state liquor credit law.
