Scope and Content Note: Original manuscripts, 1812-1840, but chiefly correspondence of Harrison, 1812-1817, concerning his participation in the War of 1812. In addition to Harrison himself, writers of letters include A. Beatty, Willie Blount, Green Clay, Joseph Desha, Ninian Edwards, Jno. (Jonathan?) Fisk, Edmund P. Gaines, Martin D. Hardin, Joseph H. Hawkins, Tobias Lear, Duncan McArthur, John McLean, James Miller, James Morrison, Jeremiah Morrow, James Renick, John Rhea, Isaac Shelby, Charles S. Todd, and William Woodbridge. Also found are a few later papers, most notably Harrison's manuscript defending his conduct of the Thames campaign in 1813, which he wrote in 1840 for Benjamin Drake. Draper also included a few additional engraved portraits of Harrison and several newspaper clippings about his military campaigns.
