Access Restrictions

All case files received before 2010 are open. All other case files remain confidential (Sec. 19.55(2)(b), Wis. Stats.) unless made public in the course of a hearing to determine if a violation occurred or in the course of any prosecution initiated. Records transferred to the Ethics Board from the Secretary of State's officer per 1989 Wis. Act 338 are all open to the public. These investigations were all closed before July 1, 1990. Any new investigation initiated by the Ethics Board will be closed to the public unless the exceptions stated above are met.
