This collection consists of source material created and compiled by Will Fellows while
researching his book, Farm Boys: Lives of Gay Men from the Rural
Midwest.
The richest sources of information are oral history interviews conducted by Will Fellows
from 1992 to 1993. Interviewees discuss their childhood backgrounds, the attitudes and
beliefs of their family members, and their experiences of coming out to themselves and
others. The oral histories include both interview recordings and general files. The files
typically include correspondence with, photographs of, and biographical information about
interviewees, and interview transcripts.
