The dean of student affairs is responsible for the organization and management of student
groups, and serves as a liaison between these groups and university administration. Cases of
student discipline, including non-academic and academic misconduct, are handled by the
assistant to the assistant chancellor for student affairs.
The assistant to the assistant chancellor serves as an intermediary for the assistant
chancellor for student affairs to various other university offices dealing directly with
students; serves as an ombudsman for students with grievances or difficulties with the
university; and oversees budgetary matters associated with students employed by the
university.
