Lynn Anderson Collection, circa 1901-circa 1987

Biography/History

Architect Lynn Anderson, a Clinton, Wisconsin native, knew she wanted to be an architect after reading Frank Lloyd Wright's Nature of Materials as a teenager. Anderson studied engineering and architecture at a Florida college, and, upon returning to Wisconsin, went to Taliesin in Spring Green to meet Mr. Wright and apply for a job. Anderson was hired by Wright as a “family server,” a position she held for five years until Wright's death in 1959. After his death, Anderson worked for several years as an architect with Taliesin Associated Architects, eventually leaving Taliesin and working for several Milwaukee-based architectural firms until her retirement.
