Abstract:
Photographs made by the Sackett Studio of Hurley, Wisconsin, operated by Lee E. and Emma Sackett. The studio photographed businesses, industries, residences, and people in and around Iron County, Wisconsin, including the towns of Hurley, Iron Belt, Mercer, Pence, and Upson. The collection documents logging, milling, and mining operations in northern Wisconsin and western Michigan including the Scott and Howe Mill and the Ironwood Lumber Company. Also included are images of a wedding, communion, and school groups; local sports teams; bands; and members of the Sackett family.
