Malopolan Club, Milwaukee Chapter Records, 1954-1979

Biography/History

The Milwaukee chapter of the Malopolan Club (Klub Malopolan), formed in December 1944 by charter members Thaddeus Borun, John and Aniela Knap, and Julius Bukalski, for Americans whose ancestors came from the southern part of Poland, Malopolska (formerly Galicia). The club was founded to preserve Polish traditions and culture, to provide financial assistance to Polish villages, and for social events. In particular, the club maintained Polish customs and celebrations for holidays and special religious occasions.
