: Included are research files collected between about 1972-1979 and organized by county and by subject; signal location plans for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad Company; correspondence with other researchers with bulk dates between 1970-1980; and county maps and U.S. Geological Survey quadrangle sheets annotated with railroad information compiled by Kaysen. Also part of the collection is Kaysen's senior thesis, 1932-1933, concerning trackage in Madison; a copy of his book, A Statistical History of Wisconsin Railroads, 1847-1936; and photographs of railroad tunnels throughout the state and of railroad bridges over the Wisconsin, Kickapoo, and Mississippi rivers.
