Abstract:
The Camille Guerin-Gonzales papers document the accademic and professional work of Professor Camille Guerin-Gonzales while at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of History and the Chican@ and Latin@ Studies Program. Professor Guerin-Gonzales's research centered on labor movements in the United States and abroad as well as the formation and politics of identity within working class movements and communities. The collection contains research materials for Professor Guerin-Gonzales's first book "Mexican Workers, American Dreams" as well as the research materials for her second book, "Mapping Working-Class Struggle in Appalachia, South Wales, and the American Southwest," which remained unfinished at the time of her death. The collection also contains materials related to professor Guerin-Gonzales's teaching and other activities related to Chican@ and Latin@ activities on the UW-Madison Campus as well as at the University of Colorado Boulder, Oberlin College, and The University of California Los Angeles.
