Camille Guerin-Gonzales papers

Arrangement

The arrangement of this collection relies heavily on the original order of the documents it contains. In particular boxes 8 through 17 attempt to, as closely as possible, retain the order and structure they had when the documents came to UW Archives. These boxes pertain particularly to an unfinished book project about coal mining communities in the United States and South Wales including non-traditional archival materials such as bibliographies, reproduced primary sources, and published secondary literature. As such the relationship of these documents to one another is their primary archival value. For this reason all folder labels have been preserved unaltered and where explanatory labels have been added they are enclosed in [square brackets] and folder order has only been altered to accommodate for the stability of large items. It is hoped that the retention of original order will conserve the spirit of Professor Guerin-Gonzales's unfinished work, the precise nature of which was known only to her.
