The papers of Gillian E. Hanscombe, an English author, poet, teacher, and activist. This collection contains various manuscripts of her 1982 book, "The Art of Life: Dorothy Richardson and the Development of Feminist Consciousness," which is about the development of feminist thought through the works of Dorothy Richardson -- more specifically her "Pilgrimage" novels.
