Personal papers of Daniel Klapproth, a Somers, Wisconsin, native who served in Panama and the United States during the Second World War. His photographs of the nature, people and towns in Panama provide a first-hand look into the life of a U.S. soldier in Panama in the 1940s. His letters, written to his mother, also provide insight into the mindset of a native Wisconsinite, experiencing foreign lands and people for the first time.
