Rita Tallent Picken, spouse of Bernard Tallent, Dean of the University of
Wisconsin—Kenosha Extension became the Assistant to the Chancellor at UW-Parkside at
its founding, invited by Parkside’s first Chancellor, Irvin Wyllie. Picken served
most notably as Director of High School Relations and Director of School and Talent
relations from 1968-1976. She later married Bob Picken, a Chicago businessman.
