The Southeast Wisconsin Regional Library Conference (SEWRLC) was officially created
in 1966. Its mission was to plan and promote the development and improvement of all
types of libraries and library services in the seven county area of Southeast
Wisconsin. Those counties included were Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine,
Walworth, Washington and Waukesha. The organization sponsored an annual spring
conference for the purposes of networking and sharing information among its members.
Membership was open to librarians, library staff, library trustees and any library
supporters. In 1986, the SEWRLC’s executive board made the decision to dissolve the
organization after several years of inactivity.
