Abstract:
Papers of various members of the Curtis family of the Town of Lowville, Columbia County, Wisconsin. Included are papers of William Curtis, relating to his service as a Columbia County, Wisconsin, justice of the peace, including the case of Wisconsin vs. Levi L. Soles, who was charged with threatening Curtis' brother; of Charles Curtis, including diaries and letters (1861-1862) concerning his studies at the University of Wisconsin and his Civil War service in the 3rd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry; and of Isaac Curtis, including a record book (1849-1881) of the Lowville Baptist Church, with minutes and a listing of church members, and records of the Lowville Centre Debateing (sic) Society (1859) and Rocky Run Temperance Society (1878-1879).
