Abstract:

The records of the UW Parkside Athletic Office begin in 1969 with the first director Thomas Rosandich, Wayne Dannehl became the second director in 1971 until his retirement in 1991. Materials in the collection document activities of the Athletic Office and include correspondence, teams, and organizations, such as the Parkside 200, a scholarship organization, and National Varsity Club, an organization that helped to support Parkside sports teams. A small amount of material from Linda Draft, Athletic Director, concerning gender equity and Title IX are included. The donated records of Loran Hein, a very successful fencing coach and UW-Parkside's only coach have been included in this collection.
