Abstract: Microfilmed papers of Mary Heaton Vorse, a journalist and author known for her championship of trade unionism. Included are materials on three strikes in the textile industry covered by Vorse during the late 1920's. The majority of the papers are concerned with a strike in Gastonia, North Carolina. Included are correspondence, notes, news dispatches to Tass and the New York Evening Graphic, typescripts of articles, and the manuscript and final typescript for her novel Strike! (1930). Relating to strikes in Marion, North Carolina, and Elizabethton, Tennessee, are miscellaneous notes, clippings, and press releases.

Abstract: Papers and photographs of Vera Fannie Croner detailing her life as a Jew living in Germany until her move in 1945 to Norway and then eventually to the United States. The papers include correspondence; materials pertaining to her grandfather, Bondy Croner; biographical documents and publications about Vera, as well as numerous pieces of memorabilia. Also included are numerous materials on Vera's parents, Max and Hedwig Croner. Included also are many photographs depicting Max and Hedwig, and many photographs of Vera through the years.

Abstract: Views of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, collected by Judge Harry Perry and made by photographers Charles Van Schaick and Ben Heller, circa 1900-1914. The majority of the images are of the October 6, 1911, flood in Black River Falls, documenting damage along the river and in the town. The Van Schaick images include views of the flood as well as images of a railroad bridge over the river, the funeral of postmaster Martin Lien, a Navy memorial boat launch, circa 1907, and rebuilding after the flood. Many of the Heller images of the flood were included in “Disaster at Black River Falls, Wis.,” a series of photographs by Heller. Other Heller images show the construction of the powerhouse at Black River Falls and businesses along the bank of the Black River.

Abstract: Records of Rietbrock, a Milwaukee-based company engaged in land and lumber sales, farming and dairying operations, and land development, particularly near Athens, Wisconsin. Included is correspondence, 1902-1935, generally in the form of Erbach's reports from the Athens camp to the Milwaukee office, describing the work in progress, local conditions, finances, land transactions, and ownership of three area farms. Also present are incomplete financial records, 1886-1898, 1912-1926, miscellany, and scattered correspondence and financial records of subsidiary companies - Athens Canning Company, Athens Electric Light and Power Company, and Ceres Roller Mills Company.
