This collection contains records from the City of Milwaukee’s 13th District Alderman,
Jeffrey A. Pawlinski. Most records date from his Aldermanic tenure, 1996-2003,
although included are some earlier copies of reports, research, articles or
clippings. There are also a few items dated after Pawlinski’s resignation from his
successor, Terry Witkowski. The original subject headings from aldermanic staff have
been kept intact as much as possible.
This collection includes reports, statistics, publications, correspondence,
handwritten notes, drafts/copies of ordinances and newspaper clippings. One of the
largest subjects is regarding general licensing and Pawlinski’s work on the
Utilities and Licensing Committee. This includes liquor licensing for businesses
around the City and issues of license revocation. There are also significant
materials regarding the Milwaukee Police Department, City of Milwaukee’s employee
pension issues, preventing and cleaning up of graffiti around the City, the
expansion of Potawatomi Casino, noise/sound barrier construction, and lead
contamination issues in paint and water. The folders titled correspondence are
Pawlinski’s designation and just a sample of the amount of correspondence he
received and sent.
