This small collection consists almost entirely of Assemblyman Barczak's files as acting chairman of the Assembly's Special Committee on Telephone and Electricity Rate Disparities, 1973-1974. Included are correspondence and memoranda to and from committee members, staff, and utility officials; copies of written testimony presented at public hearing; publicity; research material; and drafts of the final report. The printed report is available in the Historical Society Library.
Although the research material was extensively weeded to remove publications, it seems unlikely that the accession constituted the original volume held by the committee. Neither does it appear that the files contain complete coverage of the written statements presented at the public hearings.
The only other material in the collection consists of a 1978 newsletter added to the collection from an internal file in the Archives Division.
