Thomas G. Nardelli Aldermanic Records, 1977-2003

Biography/History

Thomas G. Nardelli graduated from Riverside High School in Milwaukee. He spent 27 years in the US Army Reserve’s 452nd General Hospital Division and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Prior to becoming an alderman, Nardelli was a traffic reporter for a local radio station and a shoe salesman. He was active in the Italian Community Center including serving as its president.

In 2002 and 2004 Nardelli unsuccessfully ran for Milwaukee County Executive and City of Milwaukee Mayor, respectively. He retired from his Aldermanic term in 2004. In 2007 he was hired by Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker as his chief of Staff. Nardelli moved to Madison, Wisconsin when Walker was elected Governor. He was appointed the Administrator for the Division of Environmental and Regulatory Services and left that position in 2011. In 2014 he suddenly passed away from an aortic aneurysm.
