Records of one of Milwaukee's oldest neighborhood groups that document its involvement in economic, business, and community development, residential improvement, and the effort to curb illegal liquor consumption and prostitution in Milwaukee. The West End Community Association, originally founded in July 1972 as a Latino organization, was established to work toward the economic, educational, and recreational betterment of the community and of the individuals within the neighborhood. The association serves the area of Milwaukee bounded by Wisconsin Avenue on the south, Highland Boulevard on the north, North 20th Street on the east, and Highway 41 on the west. English
