Butte des Morts treaty grounds at the time of the arrival of Gov. Lewis Cass and Col. McKenney. Copied from a lithograph after a painting by James Otto Lewis, a Philadelphian of German descent who accompanied Gov. Lewis Cass on his western tours to make treaties with the Indians.
