This series contains Thornthwaite's vast collection of reprints (with some
manuscripts) and reflects Thornthwaite's remarkably eclectic interests. Most
of the reprints, which range from about 1890 to 1970, concern physical or
natural issues (soils, geology, vegetation), but human, especially
historical matters, are included as well. Coverage is global, with some
reprints in original languages. Organization is equally eclectic, and is
based on a numbering system roughly by date received. Although the amount of
the material is too large to itemize here, Thornthwaite created card file
indexes. The one provided here is by author, but there are also indexes for
