“'Made in America' began life as a projected special for CBS but the series ended before it could be produced. I later wrote a completely revised version as a full length play which was done at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.” -- Alvin Boretz

“After the successful production of 'The Blue Men' on the Playhouse 90 series, I submitted this idea ['The Manufactured Man'] about a quiz show contestant who was given the answers. The idea was rejected. Thirty years later, a similar story was made into a feature film, by Robert Redford.” -- Alvin Boretz
