The Tenney Papers have been acquired by the Historical Society over a period of years. Some of the papers seem to have been presented by the family many years ago, probably shortly after Tenney's death. Others were presented by members of the family in more recent years, one group as late as August 1953 by a great-granddaughter in England. Two small collections were purchased between 1940 and 1945 from the man who had bought the old Tenney house on Middleton Road and had found a collection of Tenney papers and books in the woodshed.
