Microfilmed indexes to each volume of deeds. When the deeds were microfilmed, the index to each volume was removed from the volume, then grouped with other volumes' indices in order to create this Grantor Index to the deeds. For example, Reel 1 of the Grantor Index contains, in sequence, the indices from volumes B through T of deeds. Unfortunately, the fragmented nature of the Grantor Index remains: the volume indices have not been combined into a master index by which a deed can be found in a single step according to the last name of its grantor. In addition, there is no index whatsoever to the names of the grantees.
