Paul Ghali News Stories, 1940-1969

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of Ghali's copy news stories written for the Chicago Daily News from Paris, Vichy and Bern, from 1940 to 1969; news clippings of some of Ghali's news stories, 1940-1942, 1950, 1952-1953, 1958, including one folder of stories in French concerning Yugoslavia in 1943; World War II news stories (in French), 1942-1944, including one folder of undated radio releases; and a folder of lectures delivered by Ghali, ca. 1960-1966. There is also one folder of news stories about the United Nations, 1952-1953.

The news stories (in English) which form the bulk of the collection, are fairly continuous. However, there are gaps in the sequence, most of which can be filled-in by the news clippings file, and the file of World War II news stories in French.

The news stories, in both English and French, the news clippings, and the lectures are arranged in separate chronological files. Within the folders the papers are in a reverse chronological order, as arranged by Ghali.
