Scope and Content Note: Records, 1976-1982, from the office of Secretary Donald E. Percy. Included are copies of Percy's outgoing correspondence; citizen complaints received; and an extensive run of subject files, consisting of correspondence and reports on a variety of subjects including alcohol and other drug abuse, the budget, child care, corrections, food stamps, legislation, the Medical Assistance program, mental health, nursing homes, and task assignments used for planning purposes. Also included are records, 1981-1982, of both Deputy Secretary Helene Nelson and Executive Assistant Eric Stanchfield, including copies of outgoing correspondence; speech files; and working files, especially records on the various divisions of the Department, including Community Services, Corrections, Policy and Budget, Management Services, and Vocational Rehabilitation.
