Textile Workers Union of America Oral Histroy Project: Norris Tibbetts Interview, 1978

Related Material

The Historical Society's TWUA collection contains a good deal of material on the 1950-1952 internal dispute and also on the 1951 southern cotton strike, including Boyd Payton's diary of the strike (U.S. Mss 129A, Series 5A, Box 1). At the time of this interview, Tibbetts donated to the Society a folder of materials he had saved from the early 1950s concerning the textile union situation in Danville, Virginia. These materials, located in Series 5A, box 1 of the TWUA collection (U.S. Mss 129A) are a very valuable resource.
