Textile Workers of America Oral Histroy Project: Lawrence Rogin and Kenneth Fiester Interview, 1978

Biography/History

Larry Rogin, TWUA Education Director, 1941-1957, and Ken Fiester, editor of Textile Labor, 1946-1957, were interviewed separately for this Project before this joint interview. They are the best of friends and their minds feed off each other. They left the TWUA about the same time and for about the same reasons. They both went to Michigan from the TWUA - Rogin to the University and Fiester to the Auto Workers. Within a few years they were back together working for the AFL-CIO in Washington, D.C., and both have remained in the Washington area ever since.
