This series is arranged numerically by reel and survey book number. This order is also roughly chronological. A paper index to the microfilm reels is located in Box 1. This reel list provides summary data on the contents of each survey book by county and locality, date, and type of work performed. Reels 1-85 hold survey book volumes 214 to 8901. Reels 85-105 hold additional surveys located in volumes described as LHB's (Large Hard Books) and these are numbered 1-404. The books are not numbered sequentially, and correspondingly, there are numerous gaps. These records were microfilmed by the Division of Highways and Transportation Services and the resulting film corresponds only to the incomplete survey records in their possession at the time of filming.
