This collection was received in multiple parts from the donor(s) and is organized into 12
major parts. These materials have not been physically interfiled and researchers might need
to consult more than one part to locate similar materials.
When the proposed rule is introduced in each house, the archives receives a rule file from
the Senate and from the House for each rule. In general, each file is identical. During
processing, duplicate material is discarded and remaining documents combined into one of the
jackets. Additional notes on processing procedure are filed with the Processing Room's copy
of the register.
