Wisconsin. Council for Home and Family: Records, 1962-1973

Scope and Content Note

The bulk of the records date between 1967 and 1971 and consist of minutes, correspondence, speeches, reports, pamphlets, newsletters, news clippings, budgetary information and legislation. Minutes of the council and committees date from 1964 to 1971 and are arranged by committee. Correspondence is arranged in four files: chronological, 1962-1973, subject, 1965-1971, alphabetical, 1965-1970, and committee, 1965-1971. Legislation, dating from 1967 to 1971 and arranged by bill number, consists of bills that the council researched and sponsored. Speeches, reports, pamphlets, newsletters, news clippings and budget information are all arranged by subject. Since the council existed on paper for almost two years after its appropriations were cut, mail continued to be received, amounting to one cubic foot, although there was no staff to answer or file it. The original filing system was retained or recreated as much as possible.
