In order to locate a specific probate case in Part 1, researchers will first need to use the Appendix: Name Index to Case Files to identify the box number in which the case file is contained. Then use the Reel List in Part 1 to find the reel containing the appropriate box number. This Probate Case Files Index was compiled by the Sauk County Historical Society which holds the original paper files.
The case files are also indexed by Probate Index (Sauk Series 86).
An on-line index has been made available by the Sauk County Historical Society.
