First Methodist Episcopal Church (River Falls, Wis.) Records, 1863-1978

Biography/History

The First Methodist Episcopal Church of River Falls was organized in 1857 with the Reverend Miles Lewis as the first class leader. A church building was begun in 1860 but due to the Civil War was not finished until 1865. A parsonage was added in 1866. The congregation erected a new church edifice in 1989 which, with remodeling, still serves the congregation. The congregation has had over thirty ministers in its one hundred year history.
