Wisconsin Sesquicentennial Rephotography Project Photographs, 1994-2000

Scope and Content Note

The resulting collection is organized in three series. The SESQUICENTENNIAL REPHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT series (1996-1997) contains the photographs created as part of the official Historical Society sesquicentennial project and is further divided into two subseries -- prints and negatives. The prints subseries is arranged alphabetically by the photographer's last name. Each contemporary image (the “a” item in the contents list) is housed with a photocopy of the vintage print (the “b” item in the contents list) it was paired with for this project. The negatives subseries is organized by the negative number which is based on the photographer's last name and a number.

The REPHOTOGRAPHY PILOT PROJECT series (1996) includes images created by photographers participating in the pilot project and is arranged alphabetically by photographers' last names.

The PRINTED MATERIALS series contains materials using imagery from the project and includes a copy of the calendar and a copy of the book Wisconsin Then and Now.
